HISTOPATHOLOGY

Histopathology refers to the group of tests of a biopsy or surgical specimen by a pathologist after the specimen has been processed and mounted on glass slides. Thus, it revolves around the domain of diagnosing and medical interpretation of cells and tissue samples.

Histopathology proves its important nature in the determination and interpretation of:

1. Infectious diseases : Microbiological examination of tissues often fail to interpret the exact cause, whereas in histopathology, the chief causative factors like injury, inflammation or infarction can be deftly determined.
2. Acute myeloid leukemia.
3. Myelodysplastic syndromes.
4. Myeloproliferative diseases.
5. Myeloid neoplasms.
6. Myeloid fibrosis.

1. Examination and dissection of surgical specimens for selecting the most appropriate samples for microscopic slides.
2. Microscopic examination and report preparation of cytological samples.
3. Carrying out fine needle aspirations (FNA).
4. Neuropathology for detection and diagnosing neural ailments.
5. Pediatric pathology for child care and pediatric medicine administration.
6. Urological pathology for detection and diagnosis of kidney, ureter and urethra.
7. Breast pathology for detection and diagnosis of breast tumor and breast cancer.

No prior preparation such as fasting or ion tracing is needed. But having said that, it is also important for you to know that due to heavy incoming patient traffic, we literally strive to keep your appointments on schedule.
