Angiography or arteriography is an imaging technique where a radio-opaque contrast agent such as iodinated dye, is injected into the blood vessels and then x-ray images are taken, so that one can clearly visualize the lumen of blood vessels and organs of the body, especially the arteries and the heart chambers. Normally the arteries are catheterized through the femoral artery, and when the same technique is applied to the veins, it is called venography.
Angiography and venography prove to be very useful tools, especially in the following cases:
We offer customized angiography and venography services to our ever-growing client base, but it is to be noted that a prior appointment should be taken from the concerned doctor, and you should bring all your previous reports for the tests to be done. The procedure takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
You may need to stay in the hospital the night prior to the test, and you should not eat or drink anything for 8 hours prior to the test. You will be supplied a sterile and sanitized hospital gown. Apart from these, no special preparations are required for the tests.
If you are allergic to seafood or had a bad reaction with the contrast material in the past or if you are pregnant, then you must notify your concerned doctor.
